Nature Haiku

Under a gauze sky

The river runs sepia

Blessed quietude

Sky ablaze, air burnt

Shadows upon a weeping earth

War ransoms peace

A lone mockingbird

And a bright chorus of wrens

Sing my spirit awake

I lay my burdens

At the edge of the river

My tears, the water, one

The turbulent sea

Churning inside of my chest

Is now calm again
